- Location: Anza Borrego desert
- Accommodations: Primitive campsite included. You may make alternate arrangements at your own expense.
- Cost: $250 per vehicle (Full payment required to secure your spot. See payment options below.)
- Description: This is a live instruction event led by the legendary Bill Burke! Using environmentally-friendly procedures, attendees will learn the correct way to drive and perform recoveries. The off-road routes are designed to provide comprehensive learning opportunities, where you’ll receive hands-on demonstrations of terrain navigation. This experience is an excellent opportunity for you to become familiar with your vehicle’s full capabilities. Well-behaved kids of appropriate age and Well-behaved dogs of all ages are welcome.
- You will learn:
- How to be more prepared (vehicle/personal) when going into the backcountry
- How to negotiate rough terrain
- How to do a quick field fix when something on your truck breaks
- How to pick a proper line and how to spot another driver
- Basic and advanced recovery techniques
- Suggestions for modifying your truck and much, much more

Time & Place to Meet:
- Meet: Sunday, Feb 26, 8:30 am, Depart: 9:00 am
- Where: Ave Nordeste in Borrego Springs
- This is a dirt lot across from: Christmas Circle Community Park, Borrego Springs, 92004.
- It sounds confusing, but it’s really easy to find. If in doubt, look for the other Land Rovers.
What to bring:
- Required:
- Meals and snacks for both days.
- Drinking water (Gallon per day per person, consider pet’s needs if applicable)
- Camping gear appropriate for primitive camping
- Any necessary tire changing tools, including anti-theft lug nut keys
- 1 Bundle of firewood (at least, if camping)
- 2 days of fuel
- Recovery points/adapaters ready for use
- Recommended:
- All-Terrain tires
- Sunscreen and hat
- Amateur 2m radio with external antenna (very highly recommended)
- Any emergency & recovery gear you may have
- Vehicles with smaller gas tanks, additional gas recommended
- Recommended if camping:
- Weather can be unpredictable – checking the National Weather Service report is recommended.
