Trip Description: 

Rating: Easy to Moderate.

Details: We will travel to the Los Padres National Forest Ojai District to access the Nordhoff Ridge Trail and primitive campsite on 7/20.  On 7/21, we will visit the Ballinger OHV area for some trails and return home that evening.  Easy to moderate trail conditions.

Important note: **A (FREE) California camp stove permit required if you plan to have either. Get yours HERE.**

Time & Place to Meet:

• Meet: Saturday, July 20, 8:00 am, Depart: 8:30 am
• Where: California Welcome Center, 928 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside 92054. Please arrive fueled up.

What to bring:

• Required:
  • CA campfire / camp stove permit (FREE). Get yours HERE.
  • (1) Bundle of firewood (at least, if camping). NO CAMPFIRES ALLOWED
  • Camping gear appropriate for primitive camping
  • Meals and snacks for both days.
  • Drinking water (Gallon per day per person, consider pet’s needs if applicable)
  • All-terrain tires and full-sized spare
  • Any necessary tire changing tools, including anti-theft lug nut keys
  • Any emergency & recovery gear you may have
  • Sufficient fuel for your vehicle
• Recommended:
  • Family and dog
  • Sunscreen and hat
  • Amateur 2m radio with external antenna (very highly recommended)
