Oct 14-15, 2023, Joshua Tree, CA
This trip won’t be eclipsed for a while, because it literally started with an eclipse (info). 🙂 Alright, enough dad jokes.
This ended up being another great adventure. Everyone (and every vehicle) made it back intact, which is always a plus. Trip highlights included:
- Upgrading the Berdoo trail from “easy” to “easy with moderate spots” – spotting req’d.
- Driving through an active shooting range and not getting hit. -Always a plus.
- Thinking of ‘creative’ names for unknown rock structures.
- Chris conquering the ascent and descent of the optional “Sand Mountain.”
- Mike and Alia getting to break-in their new shovel.
- Jeff avoiding a big rock that I didn’t radio about. -Who put that there?
- A big Buddha face with psychedelic lights near our fire pit. -Guess you had to be there.
- Great happy hour with contributions by all.
- Learning what a “Chocolate Tease Buzz Ball” was.
- Discovering a nice lady and her nice campsite (Rosemarie at Desert Rose).
- Breakfast tacos courtesy of Mike and Alia. -Thx!
- Spending time together, solving the world’s problems and having fun….don’t we always?
Of course no trip would be complete without Chris pretending to drive like a Jeeper.
🏔**LRCSD Trail Leader is a volunteer position. We have leaders with a ride range of trail experience – you do NOT need to have competed in a Camel Trophy or be able to navigate narrow trails blindfolded. Interested in becoming a trail leader?
